My best friend asked me a few days ago for an Ipod case. Since it is Summer what it is better than navy style. A little bit of blue felt, red fabric and a ribbon with stripes and I made an envelope type case. My friend loved it. Me too:).

My next project is a lunch bag. The canteen where I work is not the best option for lunch every day, so occasionally I try to cook. The problem with taking the food is that maybe it will spill, so I want to use oil cloth material for the bag, it will be easier to clean. I've got a remnant in Cath Kidston a little bit cheaper than usual, and now I'm looking into different models of bags.

I found a tutorial on how to do it very well explained and the bag is made from a pillow cover. I leave it here, she used iron- on vinyl, this one sticks to the fabric and you will get the platicized finish.

I have also found this model with zipper.

Nuevo buhito/ New little owl

Aquí os dejo otro buhito que me he inventado yo. Yo misma he hecho el patrón.

Here you have another little owl which I invented myself. I made the pattern. This time, the idea was not to draw anything and make it whole based on sewing.

My second project was a cover for my mobile. I have a new phone and I needed something to put it in the bag and not get dirty.

With  fabric patchwork that I got on eBay, I made the exterior side with light blue fabric and little white dots and the interior one with small flowers pattern fabric. I decided to see an edge of the lining in order to use the same fabric to close the bag with a button. I wanted to try new techniques with the sewing machine, this is why I used the button to practice the buttonholes.

Algunas páginas webs interesantes/ Some interesting websites

Primer proyecto/ First project

My first project was a very easy and practical pin cushion. A little cushion with some decorative machine stitches. Thanks to the cute pins that I bought, it looks very nice, hehe.

Fuí a comprarla. Otra vez? A mí?

Me encanta!!

After the sewing workshop, I decided to buy a sewing machine immediately. When I want something I want it right now and I can not wait. I checked with the teacher's workshop on what to buy as I had no idea, and well, she said bacause I was a beginner whatever one should be ok. So I went to Argos. I live in Ireland, Argos is a chain that sells mainly through catalogs. They had a few brands and models to choose from, I went to their website where customers leave their opinions and I saw that the one with most feedback was the Brother brand, model XL2220NT. It was a more or less basic, everyone seemed happy and I did not find any complaints. I went to buy it. I brought it home and attempted to turn it on .. disappointment, it didn't work. I was looking forward for starting... and I couldn't return it until 3 days later. Well, I thought, I can not be negative, I got the faulty one but nothing happens, I'll change it and that's it. Back to Argos, they tell me that there are no other machines of the same model. I was not ready to go home empty handed, so I chose another machine, this time Brother XL-3600. A little bit more expensive, but everything for a new hobby. I took it home, I opened the box and saw the foot controller and I knew something was not right... The foot controller was used and the plug had been changed... how can that be possible? Again? Me?
I was really angry, I took everything and I  went straight to the car and back to the store. On the way I was hit by a car - the car was not damaged to after exchanging phone numbers I continued to the store. Imagine how angry I came to the store. It was a miracle that I didn't throw the machine at the shop attendant. I held back my self, I said I wanted them to show me the  new machine, otherwise I wanted my money back because, it was the last time I was going to come back to the store.

Finally, I did it! I had my machine and I started to do some things with it. I love it! And each time I like it more and more. The truth is that I have seen nothing but good comments about the Brother brand, so I hope that the third time is the charm.
